Industry Insights — Interview with Dorin Chisăliță, Hexing Technologies Europe

⚡ Renewable Energy · Interview Series

„Events such as Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec play an essential role in market development, bringing manufacturers, developers, distributors, authorities and end users together in one place.”

— Dorin Chisăliță, Sales Director Renewable Energy, Livoltek, Hexing Technologies Europe SRL

Dorin Chisăliță, Sales Director Renewable Energy, Livoltek, Hexing Technologies Europe SRL, shares his perspective on the development of Romania’s renewable energy sector in the latest interview in our „In Conversation with Industry” series.

From solar, energy storage and wind to energy efficiency, geothermal, hydrogen and energy efficiency solutions, Green Energy Expo connects technology with the projects where it can be put into practice.

Green Energy Expo is part of a unique ecosystem where energy meets the industries that produce it, integrate it, consume it and invest in its development. Through Romenvirotec Expo and Smart City Tech, it also connects with water, waste management and Waste-to-Energy, the circular economy, mobility, green infrastructure, buildings and energy efficiency — working together to build the City of the Future.

„Participating in previous editions gave us the opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing partners, identify new collaboration opportunities and showcase the latest solutions from the Hexing Europe and LIVOLTEK portfolios.”

1

How do you see Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec contributing to accelerating the energy transition and the adoption of new technologies?

Events such as Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec play an essential role in market development, bringing manufacturers, developers, distributors, authorities and end users together in one place. These platforms facilitate the exchange of experience, showcase the latest technologies and foster partnerships that contribute to the implementation of renewable energy projects. In an industry evolving at such a rapid pace, direct access to innovation and dialogue among all market stakeholders are important drivers of the energy transition.

2

What value has participating in previous editions brought you, and what made you decide to return as an exhibitor at Green Energy Expo & Romenvirotec 2027?

Participating in previous editions gave us the opportunity to strengthen relationships with existing partners, identify new collaboration opportunities and showcase the latest solutions from the Hexing Europe and LIVOLTEK portfolios. We have seen growing interest in energy storage solutions, commercial photovoltaic systems and electric mobility infrastructure, confirming the increasing maturity of the Romanian market.

We are returning for the 2027 edition because we believe the market is entering a new stage of development, where the focus is shifting from simply producing energy to integrated solutions for generation, storage, intelligent energy management and digitalisation. At the exhibition, we will showcase the latest technologies from our portfolio for smart metering, smart grids, renewable energy, BESS systems and EV charging infrastructure, demonstrating how these solutions contribute to building a more efficient, flexible and sustainable energy system. We believe events like this provide the ideal environment for turning innovation into concrete projects and long-term partnerships.

3

What is the biggest opportunity Romania is currently missing in the energy sector?

Romania has one of the region’s greatest potentials for renewable energy development, but we believe the biggest underutilised opportunity lies in the large-scale integration of energy storage systems and the acceleration of power grid digitalisation. In recent years, investment has focused primarily on energy generation, but the natural next step is to manage that energy intelligently. Without energy storage systems and smart grids, some of the energy generated cannot be used efficiently, while maintaining the stability of the energy system is becoming increasingly challenging. Romania has all the necessary conditions to become a regional leader in this area if it continues to encourage investment in batteries, smart grids and the digitalisation of energy infrastructure.

4

What change could completely transform the energy market over the next five years?

The most important change will be the shift from the concept of energy generation to intelligent energy management. The future is not just about installing photovoltaic panels, but integrating them with battery storage, smart energy management systems, EV charging stations and AI-powered solutions. Consumers will become active participants in the energy market, able to generate, store, consume and even trade energy depending on market conditions. This model will fundamentally change the way energy infrastructure is designed and used.

5

What is your prediction for the energy sector through 2036?

By 2036, energy will become far more decentralised, digitalised and flexible. We expect energy storage systems to become a standard component of most photovoltaic installations, across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. At the same time, power grids will evolve towards the Smart Grid 2.0 concept, where millions of smart devices communicate in real time to optimise energy generation and consumption. Artificial intelligence will play a key role in demand forecasting, grid management and cost optimisation, while electric mobility will become fully integrated into the energy ecosystem. In this context, suppliers capable of delivering complete, integrated solutions will have a major competitive advantage.
