23–25 March 2027
ROMEXPO · Bucharest
From 23 to 25 March 2027, Romania will host, for the first time, an official ISWA Beacon Conference, one of the flagship international event formats of the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA).
Organized by the Romanian Association for Sanitation and Waste Management (ARSMD) — the leading employers' organization in Romania's sanitation and waste management sector, ISWA's national member for Romania, and a full member of FEAD — the conference is set to become the country's most important professional event of 2027 dedicated to circular infrastructure and waste management.
For three days, Bucharest will bring together Romanian and European public authorities, utility operators, industry leaders, investors, technology providers, and international experts working to shape the future of the circular economy.

This will be much more than a conference or a general environmental forum. It will be the platform where European policies, operational realities, investments, and technology come together to answer one essential question:
| |
How can we transform circular economy goals into real, operational, and financially viable infrastructure?
01
European policies and their implementation in Romania and Central & Eastern Europe
02
Public sanitation services, regulation, tariffs, contractual balance, and cost recovery
03
Infrastructure financing and the development of bankable projects
04
Biowaste treatment, composting, anaerobic digestion, biogas, and biomethane
05
Energy recovery from non-recyclable residual waste as a complementary solution to recycling
06
RDF/SRF production and utilization, including co-processing
07
Best Available Techniques (BAT), emissions control, decarbonization, and European developments regarding ETS and BREF
08
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), secondary raw materials, traceability, and digitalization of waste streams
Thanks to its strong institutional dimension, international participation, and highly technical focus, the ARSMD–ISWA Beacon Conference Romania 2027 aims to become the leading professional platform for circular infrastructure in Romania and the wider region.
The preliminary agenda, first confirmed speakers, and registration details will be announced soon.
